Glass Shards (Half Disappears)

Lyrics

[Intro] Don't pick it up Don't hold it tight [Verse 1] So clear, like nothing was ever there Only fingerprints you wipe and wipe A flash of light runs across a familiar face Half of it stays Half disappears [Pre-Chorus] So small, so light Resting in your hand The more you try to see The closer you lean [Chorus] Don't pick it up, don't pick it up Don't press it back into the softest part Don't hold it tight, don't hold it tight The more you try to keep it The deeper it cuts It isn't what hurts you You're just holding on too hard It isn't what hurts you You just won't let go [Post-Chorus] The more you try to mend it The more it falls apart The more you try to see it The more you lose Don't pick it up Don't pick it up Don't hold it tight [Verse 2] One eye, one silhouette Turn it once And something disappears Pressed against the softest place Sinking further underneath The deeper it goes The less it shows you whole [Pre-Chorus] So small, so light Buried way too deep The closer you get The less you recognize [Chorus] Don't pick it up, don't pick it up Don't press it back into the softest part Don't hold it tight, don't hold it tight The more you try to keep it The deeper it cuts It isn't what hurts you You're just holding on too hard It isn't what hurts you You just won't let go [Post-Chorus] The more you try to mend it The more it falls apart The more you try to see it The more you lose Don't pick it up Don't pick it up Don't hold it tight [Bridge] So clear But every crack still shows Every piece can still be seen But none can make the shape it was Trying to find something in the pieces But all they ever show Is you [Final Chorus] Don't pick it up, don't pick it up Don't press it back into the softest part Don't hold it tight, don't hold it tight The longer you hold on The deeper it sinks It isn't what hurts you You're just holding on too hard It isn't what hurts you You still won't let go [Outro] The more you try to mend it The more it falls apart The more you try to see it There's only you Don't pick it up Don't pick it up Don't hold it tight
